Flickr

The fact that you ask that question suggests to me that you don't actually have any compelling reason for us to want to associate with Yahoo. I mean, if you saw some great benefit in it, you wouldn't be at a loss for an answer; you'd be able to readily and immediately tell us what's great about tying our flickr usage to Yahoo.

Is there a compelling reason, other than some oblique rephrasing of "The compelling reason is because you have no choice. Do it or leave."?

...

What part of Shi Tao is hard to understand?

What part of Yahoo! funds spyware is hard to understand?

What part of Yahoo loves to install unwanted software and hijack your browser is hard to understand?

What part of Yes, we WILL market to you, regardless is hard to understand?

What part of e legacy of bugs and compromised security is so hard to understand?

Do I really need to list more?

zemote 则说
why are the oldskool members being treated like second class citizens on this issue, we are the community that made Yahoo buy you guys.

1) Yahoo!'s TOS appears to allow Yahoo! to use our photos in ways that Flickr's does not. The Wii controversy seems to be the first example of this loophole being badly abused by Yahoo!.

2) Yahoo!'s login requires personal information including full name, gender, and birthdate, which Flickr's does not. This raises a real privacy concern for people who cannot safely share such information. People who need anonymity could lie about their personal info, but only at the risk of having their account deleted for violating the TOS.

3) Yahoo! has a terrible track record of deleting people's accounts without warning or reason, and then failing to respond to users' concerns about same. This would be a real disaster for most Flickr users, because it would mean instant and irrevocable deletion of years' worth of photos, comments, etc. This is the stuff of nightmares.

Just for you Yahoo! (by digilee)
